When to refer to an ENT surgeon to investigate maxillary sinus pathology
During the process of planning implants in the posterior maxilla It is good practice to refer patients to an ENT surgeon if sinus pathology is identified, having first dealt with dental / implant related causal factors.
The problem is that there is no consensus on what qualifies and should be referred.
Pavol Surda, Consultant ENT Surgeon, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, lectures on the implant Diploma course.
Prof. Hopkins and his ENT team from Guy's Hospital have designed a study which is aiming to create and define appropriate criteria for ENT referral for adult patients.
Graduates of the implant diploma have been invited to contribute to this study.
